Both Sides

The Pharaoh loved Egyptians
Just as Moses loved the Jews

And though King David was a hero
Goliath was one too

As Christ died for peace
So Herod died for the law

And though the Kings fought for glory
The Mongols fought for awe

Gandhi fasted day and night
But the British were likewise trim

And though for freedom King gave all
Slavers too lost life and limb

Though Nazis may have massacred
The Allies killed some too

And while the Free World was ordained
The rest also were imbued

When the heroes all are villains
And each scoundrel is a saint

Then no one stands for anything
And men make no complaints
