International Love

Are liberal causes such as anti-racism and anti-homophobia a product of encroaching Communist influences? A cursory investigation of recent history clearly and definitively answers that question.

We shall begin with the Soviet Union, which from its inception was both hyper-racist and violently homophobic. During the Stalinist era, homosexuality was a crime punishable by incarceration in the Gulags. Simultaneously, entire Russian ethnic minority communities were designated as "enemies of the people," such as Tartars, Chechens and Turks, and exiled by the millions to the farthest reaches of Siberia.

Next we shall visit China, where the ruling Communist Party at first completely ignored the existence of homosexuality, and then banned gay couples from any tangible rights or legal protections, leaving them at the mercy of bigots throughout their country. At the same time, they too stripped ethnic minority communities of their rights, from Tibetans to Uighurs to Inner Mongolians, employing everything from sterilization to murder, and to this day imprisoning millions of them in re-education camps.

Finally, we shall investigate the Communist nations of Cuba and Venezuela. Homosexuality in Castro's Cuba was considered a symptom of bourgeois Capitalist decadence, and was legally treated as such, causing untold thousands of gay Cubans to flee their country throughout the decades of the Cold War. Meanwhile, given the exceptional racial and ethnic diversity of Cuban society, the upper echelons of the Cuban Communist Party's leadership have always been remarkably homogeneous, comprised mostly of white men. Chavista Venezuela was not the slightest bit better, with a gay rights bill having been postponed in perpetuity from one year to the next over the decades, and a similarly ethnically homogeneous government.

So there you have it. Anti-racism and anti-homophobia are not really Communist causes, nor have they ever been. So if you are interested in ascribing blame, you must investigate elsewhere, as some other ideology out there is truly responsible for such beliefs.
