Do hear this tale
Which I shall tell
Of castle keep
That never fell
Upon a rock
Above the shore
Was where it stood
And stood quite well
Despite the worst
The world would throw
At walls wherein
The masses dwelled
The castle creaked
And groaned and weeped
Yet stood its ground
As if compelled
Its roof did leak
And stones did meld
While foes did pray
That it be quelled
Yet without shame
And undefamed
Stood castle keep
Which all beheld
Life grows very
Dark and cold
And difficult
As you grow old
But though you weep
And walk through hell
I hope this tale
Shall leave you well
For still it stands
Upon a rock
Above the shore
As if by spell
Though rains did fall
And tides did swell
Though storms did strike
The castle held
